PSD2
The Payment Services Directive 2, or European Directive 2015/2366 on payment services, known as PSD2, was enacted by the European Union with the aim, on the one hand, of promoting closer harmonization of existing rules across European countries and, on the other, of facilitating the development of digital payment services. The Directive was transposed into Italian law through Legislative Decree 218/2017.
As a current account holder, you will have the option to authorize access to your current account for third parties; your personal information and current account data will always be secure, protected by the security standards established by the PSD2 regulatory framework (known as “Regulatory Technical Standards”). The Directive, in fact, introduces new security requirements to ensure a high level of consumer protection, with particular reference to both traditional and electronic payment services.
Banca Sistema has chosen to join SIA’s OBP (Open Banking Platform) to allow Third Parties to access its customers’ accounts in accordance with the obligations imposed by the European directive. This platform is built using an API (Application Programming Interface) architecture in accordance with the NextGenPSD2 standards defined by the Berlin Group.
